3220 East 23rd Street   Kansas City, MO 64127   816-842-5836 Call United Way’s Info & Referral Line - Dial 211 Outreach The outreach components include: After Care - Services include aftercare groups, counseling, mentoring, leadership skills development, community service, and support.  Clients who successfully complete the Transitional Living program can participate in on-going aftercare services.  Outpatient – The program, targeting clients who need services but have housing, includes: assessment, substance abuse education / relapse prevention groups, individual sessions, drug testing, & referral services. Street Outreach – Weekly outreach to the homeless living on the street, under bridges, and in homeless camps includes hot meals, distribution of personal care items, canned goods, assessment and referrals. Outreach efforts will be conducted by volunteers, staff and peers – formerly homeless addicts who are in recovery.  In July 2009, Benilde Hall began outreach serving dinner and bringing supplies to the homeless living under bridges, on the street, and in homeless shelters.  More than 2,050 individuals (464 unduplicated) received services through street outreach.  Services included hot meals, hygiene items, clothing, disease prevention, and referrals.
