Dave is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, Dave was commissioned into the United States Army as an Air Defense Artillery officer. After retiring from active duty in 2016, Dave settled in Leavenworth County with his wife and three children. After working in construction management for 4 years, Dave started BV Contracting Solutions in 2020 with his co-owner and has enjoyed the wild ups and downs of entrepreneurship and the ability to give back to the community.

Dave believes we all have a responsibility to give back to the community and contribute to society. His service to the nation as a soldier has been replaced by a passion for Veteran issues, providing opportunities to improve the community and economic development. He was introduced to Benilde Hall by fellow board member Bob Koester and was excited to help guide the organization. Dave also serves as a board member for the Leavenworth County Development Corporation, Commander VFW Post 12003, and a Scouts BSA leader.

In addition to his Bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Dave earned a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University. He is married to his college sweetheart Wendy Vodarick.
